~ netbook reflection

2014 Learning Reflection

This year I did my learning in a netbook classroom using Google Drive.

Having a netbook made it easier to practice our math skills, memorise keyboard shortcuts, learn about weather, disasters, health, survival in the wild, the ocean and so much more.
It was also cool when we got to present our information made in a google drawing, presentation, website or movie. But, the best part is, we get to share our work on our own, individual blogs for everyone in the world to see.

It’s cool because people from across the world can post comments on our posts and we can reply back to those comments, making a conversation.

~ my holiday explanation

Wednesday 14 October 2014

The holidays are a two week break when we don’t attend school but, all we do is kick-back. The holidays are for us school students to relax and have some peace. Sometimes we get homework to do but, we don’t even do the homework.  During the holidays. I love to go camping, watch movies and stay over one of my friends houses.

It was the first week of the holidays and I was going on camp.. Our camp is about bonding. We had to bond with each other more. Driving to Motu Moana seemed like hours but, I was managing. I took my bags out of the car, walked into the building, looking for my cabin and placed my bags in there. Camp wasn’t all about bonding, though. It’s also about Coming Unto Christ. We had to be more mature about being near each other. Camp wasn’t about games, either. Not even love or choosing who you want to be friends with. It’s all about being yourself.

Saturdays. Aaaah! I was taking a shower in warm water, dried myself and got ready to watch the movie I’ve wanted to watch for a long time. It was Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Next, I called everyone that was ready to get in the car. I had a few of my cousins there, so it would be more fun. The next thing you know, my parents were sitting in the car. My dad turned the car on “Varoom. Varoom!” and off went the car. We hit some bumpy roads on the way but, that wasn’t going to stop us from watching the movie.

I was spending the last week cuddling my friends warm blanket while she got up, walked to the kitchen and made us some breakfast. I thought of helping her but, the blanket was too warm, I couldn't possibly leave it. She was walking to me with her heavy feet hitting the hard, wooden floor. That was when I decided to leave her room and go and help her bring the breakfast. I stood up, dragged my feet like a little kid and did what I had to do ........... eat the food. Yes, it was pretty selfish of me but, I’m just me. All day we did COMPLETELY nothing. Besides eating and all of that stuff, but that was it. I could’ve died of boredom, but I didn’t. Which was good, I guess.

During the holidays I went to camp, watched movies and stayed over at my friends house. I really enjoyed going to camp, because it was really exciting. I can’t wait until the next holidays, so that I can go on another camping trip.

~ my explanation ^.^

Today, I was fixing up my explanation and turned it into a better one. My explanation is about tsunamis. On Tuesday, we were making notes on what to change on our explanation. On the screenshot, the colored bits are the things I have highlighted because those are things I think I have achieved in my explanation.

What is a Tsunami and What do we do during a Tsunami?

Tsunamis are one of the most deadliest natural disasters in the world. In my explanation, I will be talking about the ugliness of tsunamis, how horrifying they look when they form with force and what you need to do to survive a tsunami.

Tsunamis form when there is a volcanic eruption, landslide, earthquake or meteorite making a large disturbance in the sea or on the ocean floor. Like the tsunami that happened in China. An earthquake struck and then it caused the tsunami to occur. Tsunamis are not like other natural disasters. To me, they’re the most deadliest disasters that occur anytime.

When a tsunami hits, it may not look so terrifying. But as the tsunami forms, it gets more terrifying every second. Tsunamis have the strength of a bull. They can tackle you with their heavy water and kill you in a split second. Tsunamis are unwanted in every country, but tsunamis are wanting to destroy.

The height of the wave during a tsunami is 15 metres tall or more. The speed of a tsunami doesn’t increase when they hit shallow water. As the wave hits shallow water, it starts to gain height and it also becomes dangerous. They say water isn’t so scary. But water of a tsunami, it’s 10 times more dangerous than fire.

When tsunamis touch land, there’s not enough time to run. The water will touch you and probably kill you on your first step. You have to know what to do and think fast. The wave of a tsunami may be faster than Usain Bolt, so know what to do and do it. If you’re surrounded by water, there may be a cause of a tsunami. Tsunamis are hard to escape and not easy to fight.

Tsunamis are very unnoticed. They can kill up to 100 or more innocent human beings. You should be aware of a tsunami that may happen near you. Make sure you are prepared and that you have everything you need. Make plan ASAP because you never know a tsunami may happen any minute now .......

So, in conclusion tsunamis are very dangerous, they look like a zombie apocalypse when they form and the force of it is harsh, and you need to have everything to be prepared.

Hannah and Chanel's Powhiri Recount

Chanel's Side of the story .....

Today was a lovely day, until all the hairs on the back of my neck rose. We were getting ready to start performing our performances before the Mayor gets here with all his guests. He was visiting us because there will be a new Early Childhood Education centre getting built in the front of our school, Glenbrae School. My friend, Hannah was performing a Samoan dance, the boys from my class were performing a Tongan dance. When the Mayor arrives with all the other guests, us girls and boys will welcome him with the haka and Karena and Noellen will welcome them with the karaga. It was so traditional and New Zealand like. After all the nerve-wracking moments, we walked and silently sat inside the hall waiting for the ceremony to start. During the ceremony, we were singing, laughing, clapping. Len Brown, Nick Smith and Matua Jim made some speeches and talked to us about what has been happening around Glen Innes. There has been people moving from houses to houses and some people aren’t liking it, but it’s okay.

Hannah's side of the story .....

After all the laughs and joking around, the whole school walked to the front of the school, getting ready to dig into the ground for the building of the centre, next year. We all sang Te Aroha once more and then took photos. Some people were fangirling, I could tell. We photobomb some of the photos, which were funny. Later on, we went to the scout hall, which was getting repaired and is going to more beautiful than before. We did the karakia to bless it and wish that everything will go well. We also went down to Taniwha Street to see the new buildings that are getting built. It was funny because Nick Smith was inside the digger and he dug a huge hole into the ground. We stood there with protesters making everyone mad, especially me. I just wanted to …………. nothing. When it was time to leave, our teacher signalled us to start walking back to school.

Everyone had fun on that day, we all wished it never ended. But, it was a Thursday and Thursdays always end …...

✪ Another Long Bay Trip ✪

It was a windy morning. The wind was so freezing I could’ve died, but, I didn’t. So, lucky me.
It was that day of another of our Long Bay trips. This time we were learning about the Marine Reserve. We met our old instructors, Sarah, James and Maureen. There were the years 6s, 7s and 8s. There were three groups and I was with Sarah. My group went to where the rocky shores were. And there, we had a tray with water in it, so that when we walk around looking for some sea creatures, we can place them carefully in the tray of water. The funny thing was, there was a lot of screaming coming from my mouth because I always find the things that I touch, disgusting. We found things like kina, starfish, crabs, pretty shells. EVEN MASSIVE JELLYFISH ! We were given a little booklet and on it, there were sea creatures that we had to look for on the rocky shore. I think we found a lot more than we were supposed too. AMAZING ! Anyway, other people were really fascinated with what they found themselves. I didn’t really know the other kind of fishes, but, at least I found something great to share. Later on that morning, we had our lunch back at our ‘hut’. We were sitting next to our friends, feeding the birds and laughing our heads off because of our jokes.

Our break wasn’t that long, although we did have two more sessions to go with Sarah and then off we went back to school. Our second session was a plain walk along the beach looking for more different types of species. We got some information of Sarah about some of the insects that were crawling, jumping around in the sand. We found some grubs ..... it was not a nice view to see. We played with the sand, ran around, drew our initials in it. I thought it was better than the other Long Bay trip we had. That one was BOOOOOORRRRIIIIING ! Next, we went back to our hut, and we put all the things that we got together and were asked a lot of questions about it. It was competition and we only had seven points, but, I didn't care. We talked about our things, like the different things we found and asked questions about it. It was ..... all right. It wasn't fun at all.

After returning all the things we found, we had to pack and head to the bus. We went year by year to the bus. Sitting down with patience, we headed back to school. Everyone in the bus were really loud. Almost louder than wild animals. There were people singing, laughing, talking and even playing. I was just chillin' with my average friends. The day was cheerful and hilarious. I really enjoyed learning about the waves and the sea creatures and ..... yeah. I really hope we get to go there again.

ღ Our Last Basketball Lesson ღ

Today it was our last basketball lesson with coach Steph. We had a warm-up for starters and then we started playing a game to test on our basketball skills. There were two teams competing against eachother. The game was pretty cool and exhausting, too. We had to try and get a goal, both teams. But only one team will win. And our team won, obviously. After that fun game, we were going to play actual basketball. My team verses the other team. Only five people from each team could verse eachother, but we took turns. What I learned was that basketball is not only about winning, it's also about team work. There wasn't really anything difficult about basketball, it's just hard to get peoples attention sometimes. What I liked the most was passing, taking and dribbling the ball. Especially the shooting into the hoop. I really enjoyed my last session of basketball. I know it's my last year at this school and we might not have any more basketball this year, but at least I learnt how to play basketball because I really wasn't good at it before, until now xD

♔ Our Long Bay Trip ♔

On Monday the 7th of April, 2014, rooms 9 & 10 went aaaaalllll the way up North to go to a beautiful beach, Long Bay. We went there to learn about what to do when we are in the wild and how we do things. As the bus driver dropped us off at the beach, a lady who turned out to be Sarah, led us to a little fale where three other instructors were. There was Sarah, Morag, James and another Sarah. There were three different activities we had to do. We were also put into three different groups. My groups first activity was with Sarah. We were learning how to pitch tents and cook sausages, camping style c: She took our group while the other groups went with their instructors. First, we had to get the instructions off her to start pitching and cooking. We started off with the pitching. We were split into three groups. My group and I started pitching our tent and tried to beat the other groups. And happily, we beat them at pitching it and taking it down, putting them neatly back in the bag. Secondly, we started cooking our sausages. My partner was my friend, Eseki. She and I had a sausage each and we cooked them on a pan. We were told what to do BEFORE we had to start cooking our sausages. When she finished explaining EVERYTHING, we started frying our sausages. We sat in somewhat we call a 'circle' with frying pans for every partner. It didn't take that long for our sausages to be cooked. It only took like 10 minutes for it to cook and then we eat it.  When my partner and I's sausages were cooked we ate them with bread and tomato sauce. It was definitely delicious !

The next activity we did was the stretches with Morag. Stretches are something we use to help someone with an injury when we are hiking in the wild. But first, we had to remember what we need. Like a whistle, hat, rain jacket, first aid and a lot more. We had relays at first, we had to run down to the other end and grab one thing from the box that we need when we are in the wild. It was really crack up because whenever I ran, I always ended up doing a little trip. We kept on doing that until we actually got the chance to make stretches with long, thick sticks and a few warm, strong sweaters. There were two groups and we had to work on our own, how to make the stretches. But we got some help from our instructor and our group teacher. We worked, worked and worked to try and make it 'till  we finally did it. When it was properly made, we started carrying people one by one on the stretcher and act like they had an injury that we are trying to save. Everyone had a turn, especially our teacher AND instructor. It was hilarious !

After that activity, we had lunch back in the fale. We met everyone else there with food gripped in their hands and putting it in their mouth like there life depended on it. I ate 'till I was full when it came to last 40 minutes that we had. During that 40 minutes, my group went on a bush walk with James. When we met him, he told us that he was pretty much ... lazy. So, WE had to do all the work with a little bit of his help. We took our maps and discussed which way the leader will take us and I was the first leader. I made my first steps and we headed up to where the water was. We had to stop there, and James told me to choose a different person to be the new leader. I chose Eseki. She led us to where she wanted us to go. We went almost to the top of the mountain we were on. But, during that walk, different people has been having turns being the leader. I really enjoyed that walk. I learnt about different islands that we saw during the walk. We also saw the Rangitoto island during the walk, too. It was really fun !

Finally, it came to the very last minute of our trip. That was when we had to go back to school and head home. We sang a little song before we left and said our goodbyes. I was really fascinated with the views I saw. It was really beautiful. I felt free, again. I also learnt how to make really steady stretches, how to pitch a tent properly, how to cook sausages and how to read a map when you are going somewhere far. I really enjoyed that day and I hope we get to go there again c:

❤ Our FabuLOUIS Trip To The Auckland Zoo ❤

On Friday 4th of April, 2014, rooms 7, 9 & 10 went on a fantastic trip to the Auckland Zoo. The whole purpose of this was to learn about the native birds, trees and animals. When we arrived there in the bus, we met three unique instructors. Each instructor took us to different parts of the zoo. The first part of the zoo we went to was the habitat of the Kea bird. Where they stayed and breeded for living. As we made our way through this really funny entrance, we saw a few Keas. Our instructor, John, told us to be very still when we walk in so that the Keas can maybe come up close to us and communicate with us in some way :p When I first walked in, I stood there like how Lady Liberty stands in the middle of some place in New York. I really wanted one of the Keas to come up to me and play with me. But sadly, it didn't ... [[sad face]] :( Anyway, at least I actually went to the zoo because it was my first time and it was amaZAYN, see what I did there ? Smart, huh ? But all we did was play statues, took photos [[selfies]] and enjoyed ourselves.

After that brilLIAM time looking at the pretty, big Keas, we went with our next instructor who took us to the forest where all different kinds of birds lived. Like the kaka bird, the kakariki, the wood pigeon and so much more (that I forgot). We walked along the paths and spotted some native New Zealand plants and trees that we have been learning about. There was the kawakawa, the nikau tree and I think the kauri tree ? Oh my gawd ! I have really bad memory. But I had fun and that was that ... nah, just kidding !

Well, after THAT trip to the forest, we went to the NIGHT FOREST ! In the night forest, there lived the kiwi. If you haven't heard, but the kiwi is on the edge of getting extinct. Such as the orangutans. But I'm here to talk about the kiwi ! Anywho, it's actually pretty obvious that it was dark in there because it's called the 'night forest'. Before we even laid a foot in the night forest, our instructor told us that it may take about 2 minutes for your eyes to get used to the darkness and that to always focus your eyes on the back of the habitat of the kiwi for any sudden movement. So, in the night forest you can't really spot the kiwis because of how dark it is. I only spotted two gorgeous kiwis eating something. I couldn't really see it, but, it was something. Our instructor didn't only talk to us about the night forest but, he also talked to us about the eel (tuna). I also learnt that when the female eel needs to lay its eggs, it swims all the way to the ocean of Tonga just to lay the eggs and then swim back to live with its own parents. Weird ... right ? But everything and everyone is different.

Next, we had our morning tea with the rest of the famz. We talked with our mates and ate our lunch and talked with our mates 'cause that's just how we do it ! Glenbrae school, though. Buuuuuuuuut, after that, came my favourite part ... EXPLORING THE AUCKLAND ZOO ! I went with my group and we walked around looking at different kinds of animals, like the giraffes, hippos, zebras, American alligators, lemurs, lions, orangutans and so much more (that I forgot, again)

But, when it came to the sad part [[sad face]] when we had to go home, I was sitting there with a frown. I was really eager to run back to where the pigeons were, because pigeons are the bomb.com and steal one. I learnt a lot of fascinating things about the native birds, trees and animals. I enjoyed going to the zoo, it was phenomiNIALL and I hope we get to go there again. But, with a bigger smile on my face.

Bio Poem About My Best Frand ❤

Gemima
Hilarious, high-spirited and gorgeous.
Lover of classic music, stuffed animals and Matthew Healy.
Who wonders why we won't just end world hunger.
Who fears trees in the dark, quiet streets and people walking behind her.
Who feels envious of Crystal Reed.
Who is able to stand up and defend you when you have problems.
Who would like to live in California with her best friend(It's me. Don't be jealous)
Who dreams of being an author like John Green
Joyful and peaceful ❤

Basketball Recount - ❤

On Tuesday, we had another fun morning at basketball.
We were all really excited and pumped up, ready to go. Straight after the bell rang, we made our way to the court, where coach Steph was standing patiently. We lined up straight and waited for our instructions to be called out. For our warm-up, we had relays. But we wanted to play statues and I know that because I'm a sidekick xP Just kidding ! Anyways, for our relays, we had to run to the far end of the court and then run back. Everyone was running, except me. I couldn't really move my left leg for some reason. I didn't know why, but it was sore. I tried my hardest, but couldn't get to the end of the court. It was funny because everyone was racing each other and trying to beat one another. I was laughing my head off. They all ran as fast as cheetahs. People were running from this side to the other in a split second.

Our next activity was to get in to two lines with our partners on the this side or the other. Coach Steph said "You guys have to chest pass the ball to each other, WHILE stepping forward with one foot". We did as told and chest passed the ball to each other. After every move we were told to do, that was related to basketball, we had a competition. We had to chest pass or bounce pass or just pass the ball to each other without dropping the ball and try to get up to 15 or more passes. That was really hilarious because we were all like trying to make other partners lose. Especially me :P

After all that fun and mucking around, it came to end of our lesson with coach Steph. We said our farewells and headed back to class. We were really high, that we could do anything. I can't wait for our next lesson !

My Awesome Day At DANCE FEVER!!!!

Today, our morning was really fun. We had another awesome day at Dance Fever. In the morning, we were told that they will be running late so we finished off some work from yesterday. As we were doing our work, another message was told to us and they said that Captain and Christina made it here and it was time to shake. It was raining cats and dogs outside so we had to run for our lives. When we got there, Captain was set and ready to jingle. We all made our ways inside and waited for our instructions. “Everyone,
we are going to start off with our Foxtrot routine”  said Captain and Christina. But before we could dance, they showed us how to walk in before we dance. Us girls, we use our peacock feathers with one arm up in the air like a ‘girly girl’ with one lazy finger and the boys show off their peacock feathers. We went through that for some time and then we went on to dancing. We practiced without the music first, as usual. They wanted to check our movements and how we danced before the music was played. They would walk around to check up on us and then played the music. The song that was played was a song from Chris Brown, one of our favourite singers. We kind of fangirled, but it’s a part of life. You know? Anyways, we danced to that song until it was finished and then they would play it again. Until, we were finally DONE!

Our next routine was the Cha Cha! We found our own space with our partners and then we dance in that spot. We danced without the music, again. “5, 6, 7, 8!” counted Christina. We were dancing to the instructions that Christina was saying through the microphone. “Moving to the left, left, right, left, other foot” said Christina. It went on and on and on. Christina stopped us a couple of times because of how we were dancing. Our energy was really low. They demonstrated it to us perfectly and then we were on the stage of doing it just like how they did it. They did the same thing. Walk around checking up on us and then they play the music if we are PERFECT. The song was from a New Zealand singer, Aaradhna. The song was really fast so it was a bit hard to catch up. My partner and I were really confused because of how fast the song was going. We were also laughing at our wrong moves and enjoying ourselves. That went on until the best part of the day came, Hip Hop.

The Hip Hop routine was my favourite routine. It was really catchy, groovy, and funny. Some of the moves were funny and cool at the same time. We walked into our cannon lines and got ready to put our attitude on. Boom Boom by Justice Crew was played and we were shifting from this move to that move. The music was fast but funny. Some moves we didn’t really know how to do but we just acted like we knew it. “Boom Boom, it’s getting HOT in here!” the song sang as we had fun dancing to the music. It was downhill from there. We had some time at the end to do a little fun dance. GANGNAM STYLE, BABY!!! We did the same dance that we did last week. The weird but funny and groovy dance. We did that dance until it was time to leave. I was sad when we had to leave. We all said CATCH YOU LATER CHRISTINA and LATERS CAPTAIN!. We skipped back to class and got ready to learn. I can’t wait until next week.

Music Is As Important As Education!.... :)

Do you ever wonder why you can’t be like all those famous singers out there?
In this school I think our principal should give us more music time.
Do you ever get tired of just singing to only two people and not let everyone see what you’re capable of?
I believe that we should have more music in this school. Instead of just dancing maybe a little more singing.
The reasons why I want more music in this school is because students learn better with music, it’s helpful, and the lyrics in a song can help us in life.

FIrst of all, we should have more music because students learn better with it and it can be good for our education. For instance, we always bring our earphones and headphones when we’re not supposed to. In addition, we barely get to do anything with music but dance. In fact, because we barely finish our work some of us, it helps us concentrate.

Second of all, it can be helpful. To begin with, we can start following our dreams and become better when we’re older. For instance, we can get rid of stage fright and shyness since we have already been singing to people. In addition, we can write good songs and write better stories in writing with the good words we know.

Finally, the last reason why is because some songs can help our lives eg. if we have a problem in the family. In addition, the lyrics helps us, when we read we can also improve in our writing. Furthermore, music is therapeutic. It means music helps people get through hard times i.e breakups, and deaths in the family.

As you can see, it is really important that have music in this school. Look around the world, people have earned their living through music. For instance Michael Jackson, Mariah Carey, Adele, Beyonce, Mandy Moore and so much more. Their music have given them luxury lives. I believe we should do our part too, so we can achieve following our most wanted dreams. Just imagine all of us growing becoming a better and older person. It would be perfect for all of us. Having music in life is a good thing. Without music life would be a mistake. Our lives would be mistake too if we don’t do something we want to do.

Our First Best Softball Lesson!

Hooray! Today was our very first softball lesson this year with some coaches from Auckland Sport. We started off with a well warming game of red light, green light. Whenever she called out “Green light” we ru
n as fast as we can, when she called out “Red light” we stop as quickly as we can to not lose, and whenever she called out “Orange light” we walk. That was how we played the game and that was our warm up. Everyone was huffing and puffing because of all that running we did. We were as tired as sleeping koalas.

After that quiet game of red light, green light, we were taught some skills. The skills we learnt was the skills we already knew, but she taught just incase we do it wrong when we’re in a game. We got into pairs and we practiced our throwing and the way of how to throw. She told the correct of standing when you’re throwing. My buddy was too afraid to do that, she just stood there throwing and catching the ball. We practiced our throwing and catching for a while.

Our instructor told us to pass the ball back and forth to each and see how many passes we did, and we weren't allowed to drop the ball. MY buddy and I kept on dropping the on our first throw we didn’t even make past five, but when kept on going and going we made past 100. We were relieved.

After that we heard the next classes footsteps stomping down the court, and we felt sad because our time was over. So we said our thank you’s, and off we went to our classroom. That softball lesson was the best first softball lesson this year.

My Best Holiday Recount!

Yahoo! On Saturday it was our umu day. Sometimes every Saturday we have a umu. It was only my dad and I that went because all my other siblings were naughty and my mum was sick. I was staying with my cousin and her brother’s girlfriend. We had a great time together. We played some games, we talked, we watched a movie, and we even walked to the shops at night. We laughed a lot during movie time.

During movie time, we watched a very funny movie, but it was also kinda nice. The movie was about a father that had to move to Japan and work there. He didn’t want to go because he didn’t want miss his son’s birthday party, so he came back for his kids and his wife on the exact same day he went to Japan. “Hahahaha” I laughed out loud, that movie was funny. I laughed as loud as my dad being stupid.

While we were doing that, my uncles and my dad were at the back singing Samoan songs, laughing, and talking very loud. “Lalalalalalalala” my uncle’s sang a loud. My auntie’s were at the dinner table minding their own business and laughing. I thought that night there was laughing than talking, listening to music, singing, and all sorts.

It was actually a bit boring that night, except for the movie bit. We did a lot of fun stuff and that was the fun bit. When I heard my dad calling my name saying “Hannah, Hannah, Hannah!. It’s time to go home!!!”, I felt sad because I wanted to do a more fun stuff, but then “Nooo”. At least we got a to do a bit of fun that night. It was the best night ever.

Our Amazing Last Football Lesson!!!

Hooray! Today was our last football lesson with our instructor, Ben. We were so happy that we had another football lesson today!. At the start it was raining and everyone thought we had football in the hall so we dragged our legs down to the hall and then we saw Ben in the court so we dragged out legs the opposite way from the hall. At the court everyone was pumped up ready to go. We started off with a warm up of octopus like always. We had two enjoying games of it. Everyone was running as fast as the wind. After those two games we were out into six teams. We never learnt any skills we just had a little tournament like before. “Get yourselves on the yellow line!” shouts Ben. As he started counting “1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6” everyone was excited. The tournament started and we used the whole court. This team verses this team and this team verses that team and so on.

The whistle blew and everyone started kicking, running. We could even hear people say “MARK THE GOAL, MARK THE GOAL!!!”, they were as loud as headless monkeys. Our team won a couple of games, but the third game we played, we didn’t win because there were some really good players in that team, even our teacher was in that team and he won a goal. The last game was a game of revenge. I tried marking our goal and tried getting a goal. Everyone was screaming, yelling, and shouting. Then the whistle blew and the tournament was over.

At the end everyone was all puffing because of all that writing. One of our friends said thank you to our instructor Ben for teaching us some gangster skills. Then we left with in a good manner. Everyone was pumped and ready to do a lot of work because of the mini tournament.

Who Are You???

It was a dark cold night, and everyone was fast asleep in the house. I was shivering with fear in my bed alone, I didn’t know what to do. So I stepped out of bed and went to the kitchen to get me a glass of delicious warm milk. Suddenly I heard someone screaming “Help, help, help” from across the street. I place my cup of heart warming milk on the table and tippy toed over to see what was happening. As I looked through the window I see a suspicious man just standing looking like he wanted something. He turned around and looked at me like he knew me. So I quickly turned back and hid myself as fast as I could behind my curtain. I peeked through the curtain to see if he turned back but he has disappeared. I was as scared as a stranded animal. I wondered where he went. Is he a bird that just flew away?. Is he a magician that magically disappeared?. I also wonder who was screaming ‘Help’ three times.

I wondered so hard, but nothing came up. Suddenly I see a shadow shining behind me like the light of Heaven. I turned around and it was the suspicious man again. What was doing here?. Does he want something?. He spoke to me and said, “My name is Jake”. “Why are you here?” I said. He never answered my question, but just vanished out the door. I tried to run after him, but he was too fast. “WAIT! DO YOU KNOW WHO WAS SCREAMING FOR HELP!?” I shouted. But no answer.

After that night he never returned, he was never to be seen after that night. I never stopped thinking about it. So I walked to school and told my friends about it, but they didn't believed me. So I walked home from school and I saw him standing there looking at me again. I ran to him quickly, but then the next minute he’s gone. So I went home with a head full of wonders mostly about him and also about who was screaming ‘Help’. That night was a night that will be remembered and never forgotten.
