It was a windy morning. The wind was so freezing I could’ve died, but, I didn’t. So, lucky me.
It was that day of another of our Long Bay trips. This time we were learning about the Marine Reserve. We met our old instructors, Sarah, James and Maureen. There were the years 6s, 7s and 8s. There were three groups and I was with Sarah. My group went to where the rocky shores were. And there, we had a tray with water in it, so that when we walk around looking for some sea creatures, we can place them carefully in the tray of water. The funny thing was, there was a lot of screaming coming from my mouth because I always find the things that I touch, disgusting. We found things like kina, starfish, crabs, pretty shells. EVEN MASSIVE JELLYFISH ! We were given a little booklet and on it, there were sea creatures that we had to look for on the rocky shore. I think we found a lot more than we were supposed too. AMAZING ! Anyway, other people were really fascinated with what they found themselves. I didn’t really know the other kind of fishes, but, at least I found something great to share. Later on that morning, we had our lunch back at our ‘hut’. We were sitting next to our friends, feeding the birds and laughing our heads off because of our jokes.
Our break wasn’t that long, although we did have two more sessions to go with Sarah and then off we went back to school. Our second session was a plain walk along the beach looking for more different types of species. We got some information of Sarah about some of the insects that were crawling, jumping around in the sand. We found some grubs ..... it was not a nice view to see. We played with the sand, ran around, drew our initials in it. I thought it was better than the other Long Bay trip we had. That one was BOOOOOORRRRIIIIING ! Next, we went back to our hut, and we put all the things that we got together and were asked a lot of questions about it. It was competition and we only had seven points, but, I didn't care. We talked about our things, like the different things we found and asked questions about it. It was ..... all right. It wasn't fun at all.
After returning all the things we found, we had to pack and head to the bus. We went year by year to the bus. Sitting down with patience, we headed back to school. Everyone in the bus were really loud. Almost louder than wild animals. There were people singing, laughing, talking and even playing. I was just chillin' with my average friends. The day was cheerful and hilarious. I really enjoyed learning about the waves and the sea creatures and ..... yeah. I really hope we get to go there again.
